FOREST HILL, Victoria — A 72-year-old woman from Boronia has died following a serious two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Springvale Road and Canterbury Road in Forest Hill, leaving her family and loved ones mourning while investigators continue examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Emergency services were called to the intersection shortly before 11:30 a.m. after reports of a collision involving two vehicles. The woman was travelling as a rear-seat passenger in one of the vehicles and was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of emergency responders.

The crash also left several other people injured. The female driver of the same vehicle, a 52-year-old woman from Boronia, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital for medical treatment.

A 14-year-old boy from Boronia who was travelling in the front passenger seat sustained minor injuries and was also taken to hospital.

The second vehicle involved was driven by a 41-year-old man from Clayton, who was reportedly not injured. His passenger, a 21-year-old man from Parkdale, suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital.
